I was invited to join a Teams meeting the other day and figured when I got the invitation it is like Zoom, you just need to download the application and then you can join. Not so, I needed to join somewhere before using it. So, I could not participate. Is this normal? Is it not like zoom? How do I participate without joining anything at Teams or MS. You indeed can join a meeting without the need to create the MS Team first, In this case, you need to join as a guest.

Please keep in mind, you can only do this by using the MS Team desktop app. On the pre-meeting screen, you can enter your name as a guest. The following section below is appliable if the inviter use MS Team paid license. However, please be advised the meeting participants can only join as anonymous guests if the inviter has enabled anonymous access in the meeting policy setting via the admin center.

If the meeting participants are unable to join as an anonymous guest then please ask the admin to visit the following link below then make sure the admin turn on the “Anonymous users can join a meeting” option.
